Mount Kinabalu – Malaysia

Dawn over Mount Kinabalu, Borneo

Seventeen years ago on the 10th March as I flew into Kota Kinabalu in Sabah and I managed to get this shot of Mount Kinabalu. At 13,435 feet above sea level Mount Kinabalu is the highest mountain in Malaysia and is treated with reverence by the Kadazan, local inhabitants. To reach the summit is a two-day trek, day 1 to the huts at 10,000 feet and day 2 an early morning start to the summit followed by the descent.
