This grotto at Waenhuiskrans is only accessible through a hole in the top. Waenhuiskrans is a picturesque fishing village with 200-year old thatched, lime-washed cottages and is known as Arniston to outsiders. Waenhuiskrans is 40 kilometres west of Cape Agulhas, which is the southern most point of the African continent. That’s right, the Cape of Good Hope is not the southernmost point. This photograph was taken on 14 April 1994.
