Tsavo East – Kenya

The King of the Jungle

We continued our safari on 13 June 2007. Although it was lightly raining we were fortunate to see a lion and lioness. The safari guides keep in touch with each other and when a lion, rhinoceros or other elusive animal is spotted they will inform the other guides. In the more popular National Parks this will mean that 20 or more vehicles will race to the same place. At Tsavo, as it is large and not over-crowded only four vehicles were at this scene. A slightly damp lion completely nonplussed by the safari visitors.
