Cairo – Egypt

Khan El Khalili, Cairo

Although the Khan El Khalili market is touristy, it is a must place to visit when in Cairo. Yes, you have to put up with the haggling, which can be annoying to some – but put it down to another travel experience. I always enjoy a cup of mint tea whenever I am in this area and as is evident, there is always a mix of locals and tourists. Whether you choose to sit at a tea shop in an alley or facing the open square it’s a great spot for “people watching”. July is not the best time to visit as it can get unbearably hot. This photograph was taken 2nd July 2010.

And it never changes – it looks exactly the same today as it did when you took this picture! Thanks for the great memories this evoked!
