Iguazú Falls – Brazil

Iguazú Falls, Brazil

This photograph of the Iguazú falls is taken from the Brazilian side looking towards Argentina. These magnificent falls are 2,700 metres in length, incorporating 275 different falls dropping 82 metres to the river below. The Falls are situated in the Iguazú National Park and it is well worthwhile to spend at least three days at the falls.A visit to Devil’s Throat on the Argentina side Will de a deafening experience as 14 falls combine forces to push the waters over the edge of the falls.

I was there in 2010 and the waters of the falls are now coffee coloured, a muddy sort of brown instead of the white in your photo. Upriver logging caused sediment and silt to be washed into the falls. It’s great though to be able to see what it used to look like thanks to your photo!
