Shenzen – China

Street scene, Shenzen, China

I was accompanying some friends who were on a business trip to Shenzen with my wife. It’s modern, relatively clean and expensive. Just another big Chinese city that does not have much history. As I was wandering the streets I spotted this household broom seller who appeared out of place in this modern city. Perhaps the only bit of modernity is his handphone. Talking to one of his esteemed customers?

Reblogged this on Yunrichi's and commented:
Ga beda jauh ya sama penjual kelontong di Indonesia 😀 😀

I love the breadth of choice in colour he has for his customers – “Fancy a purple or a pink broom? No? Well lime-green is the colour of this season, I hear!” Great picture. What are the odds that he will still be cycling around hawking his wares if you go back to Shenzen now?
